Why Join?

  • To be informed of the current and proposed legislation that affects landlords and could impact your business or retirement plans. Legal changes are always on the horizon and the JLA Committee feels that these could be unreasonably detrimental to the vast majority of good landlords in Jersey.

  • To make your voice heard.

  • To share experiences and advice with other landlords.

  • Benefit from our in-depth knowledge of the industry.

  • Excellent value for money.

Who are we?

The Jersey Landlords Association is a group of like-minded residential property owners (individuals and businesses) and managing agents. Some of our members have one property and some have many. Everyone is welcome. Our list of members is private and confidential. We are run by a committee of members who are all landlords, agents or property professionals and many of whom have other business interests or professional occupations. We are the only group representing the interests of landlords in Jersey. We are a growing association, but need as many members as possible to strengthen our voice. We rely on membership subscriptions to fund the important work we carry out for the industry.

What do we do?

Unite landlords

  • We bring together landlords by surveying our members on a range of important issues.

  • We hold a yearly AGM

  • We plan to hold networking sessions where landlords can meet like-minded people and share their experiences.

Represent landlords

  • We frequently advocate for landlords at States and Government levels in these uncertain times (e.g. landlord licensing, rent controls, population policy, rent safe scheme, tenancy notice period extension, carbon neutral roadmap etc.).

  • We communicate our members’ views to the media, States Members, Ministers and the public via letters and articles, TV interviews and our Facebook page. Check www.jla.je/consultations to see an up to date list of our activities.

Inform landlords

  • The JLA Committee meets frequently to discuss current and proposed legislation that affects landlords and relays this information to our members via our newsletter, email and our Facebook page.

  • We hold events for our members when important issues come to light, which have been very well attended.

  • We hold information events where our members can learn more about specific topics such as environmental health, leases, fire certification, historic buildings, data protection etc.
